MacRoberts commercial team shortlisted at 2016 British Legal Awards

MacRoberts has been shortlisted for commercial team of the year at the British Legal Awards alongside Eversheds, Herbert Smith Freehills, Olswang, Simmons and Simmons & Ward Hadaway.

The full awards shortlist sees a range of UK law firms competing across a range of categories. MacRoberts are one of only two Scottish firms to be recognised at the awards which are being held in London on 24 November.

MacRoberts nomination follows a good year for its commercial team which has continued to attract new clients through competitive tendering. This included retaining its place on the Scottish government legal framework panel and being appointed to act for the government on all contract and commercial matters.

The nomination also follows a strong financial year for the firm with increased turnover, profits and headcount. Draft accounts in the year-end to April 2016, show turnover up by 10 per cent to £19.78m, profits climbing 12 per cent to £6.9m and the firm’s headcount increasing by 12 per cent across its three offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Dundee.
