MacRoberts LLP partners with ENABLE Scotland to raise vital funds
The 280 walkers who took part in the Glasgow Kiltwalk, including the MacRoberts team, have so far raised £28,000 for the charity, with some fundraising monies still coming in. All money raised will be supplemented by an additional 10 per cent in funding, donated by Sir Tom Hunter and his charitable foundation.
Katy Wedderburn, partner at MacRoberts said: “The work ENABLE Scotland does to fight discrimination and inequality is truly inspirational and we wholeheartedly support their vision of an equal society for every person who has a learning disability.
“As a Scottish based law firm, we have long established links with the charity sector and we will continue to work with organisations to deliver and enhance the opportunities for all disadvantaged people in Scotland.”
ENABLE Scotland CEO Theresa Shearer joined walkers, along with Sir Tom Hunter, to kick off The Big Stroll portion of the day at Clydebank College. Speaking at the event, Ms Shearer said: “We are delighted that MacRoberts has chosen to support ENABLE Scotland as a corporate partner. They have actively supported our charity fundraising activities for a number of years and have recently become more active as a corporate sponsor of our Annual Ball.
“Through generating fundraising income from events like the Kiltwalk in partnership with companies like MacRoberts ENABLE Scotland can support more families throughout Scotland.”
The Kiltwalk continues in Aberdeen on 4 June, Dundee on 20 August and Edinburgh on 17 September with MacRoberts colleagues, friends and family joining in the fun.
