MacRoberts partner made chair of Property Litigation Association Scotland branch
Gillian Craig, partner and head of property litigation at MacRoberts has been named the new chair of the Scottish branch of the Property Litigation Association (SPLA).
The PLA was set up to promote specialist property litigation skills within the property industry and to provide a network for the exchange of information among members of the association. It was also established so that there was a public voice for property litigators with the capacity to lobby when needed.
Members of the PLA specialise in all aspects of property litigation including commercial, residential and agricultural property law.
Training and social events are set up regularly which gives members an opportunity to gain CPD training, network and share best practice with other solicitors in varying stages of their career and from a variety of backgrounds.
Ms Craig has over 15 years’ experience working in property litigation including lease disputes, rectification, variation of title conditions and CPO compensation claims and development issues.
She said: “The PLA is a great forum for those involved in property litigation- and I particularly value the collegiacy amongst its members. I am really pleased to take on this new position and I can’t wait to get started.
“I am keen to work towards increasing the PLA’s presence in Scotland and re-energising its position. The committee has lots of exciting plans for the year ahead which I can’t wait to be part of and hope our members will support. ”
