Maggie Moodie and Elaine Motion make The Lawyer Hot 100 2019
Morton Fraser chairman Maggie Moodie and Elaine Motion, executive chairman of Balfour+Manson have been listed amongst UK’s top 100 lawyers
The Lawyer Hot 100 recognises and celebrates the standout lawyers shaping the legal profession in the UK over the past year. Ms Moodie is named as one of twelve lawyers within the list’s Leaders section.
She said: “I am delighted and honoured to be recognised amongst such esteemed company by The Lawyer in this year’s Hot 100 list but our success over the last few years has been down to having a great team and an outstanding CEO in Chris Harte.
“At Morton Fraser we’re committed to offering the best value and experience and it’s great that our work in Scotland is being acknowledged nationally in this way.”
CEO of Morton Fraser, Chris Harte, added: “We are thrilled to see Maggie recognised this year in such a prestigious and highly thought of list as the Hot 100. Her ground-breaking work continues to deliver at Morton Fraser and we are very lucky to have her as part of the team as we continue to grow.”
Ms Moodie also leads the firm’s public sector team of 80 sector specialists, one of the largest of its kind in Scotland.
Elaine Motion was included for her successful case in proving that the UK Parliament had the right to unilaterally revoke Article 50 and was named one of the best 13 law firm ‘leaders’ in the UK.
Ms Motion said: “I am deeply honoured to be named as one of The Lawyer’s Hot 100. It has been an exceptionally busy and exciting 12 months, both for me personally and for the firm in Edinburgh and Aberdeen.
“We have worked on some complex, high profile cases – such as providing legal counsel on revoking Article 50. Cases like this have had a profound and far-reaching impact, but we aim to do every piece of work to the highest possible standard for our clients – and day after day, our superb, talented team of people aspire to achieve that.”
