Marks & Clerk expands Edinburgh team with senior appointment
Marks & Clerk, the UK’s largest firm of patent and trade mark attorneys, has boosted its presence in Edinburgh by adding to its patent team.
Dr Jo Bradley has joined Marks & Clerk – which has three Scottish offices – as a principal associate based in Edinburgh.
A chartered and European patent attorney, Dr Bradley has over 15 years’ experience of advising clients on their intellectual property needs.
She spent a number of years working on large patent portfolios for BP Chemicals before qualifying as a patent attorney in 1999.
After this, she worked in private practice and became a partner in a London law firm, before moving to Edinburgh in 2012.
She completed a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Cambridge, having obtained an MA in natural sciences from the same institution, before qualifying in IP law at the University of London.
At Marks & Clerk, she will advise a number of the firm’s clients in sectors including industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals and biotechnology.
Dr Paul Chapman, Edinburgh office managing partner, said: “Jo has a long track record in delivering results for clients and will be a valuable addition to our growing Edinburgh team of intellectual property professionals.
“Her expertise in delivering IP solutions for businesses operating in Scotland’s thriving chemical and healthcare industries will ensure we continue to deliver for current and new clients alike. We look forward to her contribution to our growing life sciences practices.”
Dr Bradley said: “Marks & Clerk in Scotland has a reputation for excellence and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to grow the business and expand our offering to clients in multiple sectors.”
In total, Marks & Clerk employs 33 patent and trade mark professionals across its offices in Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Glasgow.
