Marshall Ross & Munro to be incorporated into Lanarkshire firm John Jackson & Dick
As of today, the business of Marshall Ross & Munro, 106 Hamilton Road, Motherwell will be incorporated into the well-established Lanarkshire law firm, John Jackson & Dick, which has offices at 48 Cadzow Street, Hamilton, and in Strathaven.
Charles Bow, the principal of Marshall Ross & Munro, said: “Now in my late 60s and having practised law in Edinburgh, Motherwell and Hamilton since the 1970s, I have come under some pressure from family to make plans for my retiral.
“I had a difficult decision to make. To continue practising as a sole practitioner was not an option and so I decided to seek out another practice with a similar ethos and background to carry on the business.
“I have dealt with John Jackson & Dick for many years and consider them to be very well suited to provide a continuing and quality service to my clients. I am not retiring immediately and am taking the role of consultant solicitor with John Jackson & Dick to ensure a smooth transition, with a view to winding down and retiring in 2020.”
Euan Stirrat, a director of John Jackson & Dick, said: “It was with some sadness that I heard that Marshall Ross & Munro could not continue as an independent firm after Charles Bow’s retirement.
“However, I was delighted to hear that he regarded us as being the most suitable firm to look after their clients. As they were our family firm before I qualified, for me, it feels like completing an unforeseen circle.
“Being around for “only” 85 years, JJ&D also has its foundation in good, long-term relationships with clients who return again and again. Such relationships are built on consistent, quality service.”
Any title deeds, wills and other documents which were held by Marshall Ross & Munro for safe-keeping will now be held securely for that purpose by John Jackson & Dick in its Hamilton office. From today, Mr Bow can be contacted at John Jackson & Dick’s Hamilton office on 01698 281747 or by email on cbow@jacksondicklaw.com.
