MMS’ Amanda Jones to serve on Scottish government labour group
Maclay Murray & Spens LLP partner and head of employment, pensions and immigration, Amanda Jones , has been co-opted on to the Scottish government’s Strategic Labour Market Group.
The group, which had its first meeting last week, has as its remit to make recommendations on the Scottish government’s approach to labour market issues and to advise on future interventions to ensure that the strategy remains responsive, adaptable and delivers a fair, inclusive and successful labour market in Scotland.
It is working alongside the Fair Work Convention and will play a key role in determining how the government measures progress in the context of the published labour market outcomes.
Ms Jones said: “I am excited to have the opportunity to work with such impressive people to help shape the implementation of the Scottish government’s labour strategy.”
The Strategic Labour Market Group is made of up of academics, senior figures in public and private sector and unions etc and is chaired by the employability minister Jamie Hepburn.
