Moira Kay accredited as specialist in both brain and spinal cord injury in legal first

Moira Kay, who has been with the firm’s serious injury department for over 13 years, received the accolade from the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) earlier this month.

She will now also be the APIL assessor for applications for specialist accreditation in brain injury and spinal cord injury made by solicitors across the nation.

Ms Kay said: “For years I have fought to ensure those whose lives have been irreversibly changed can secure fair settlement.

“It’s an honour to receive the accreditation from APIL but it doesn’t change my personal and professional ambitions which are simply to help people recover from brain and spinal injuries.

“Ultimately this accreditation serves to inform the public on why they need to seek out specialist legal advice in this highly technical field.”

Ms Kay’s career as a personal injury solicitor began in 2005 when she joined Digby Brown – later becoming partner in 2011 – and has personally recovered damages totalling £58.4 million.

Her expertise and success has helped the firm recover around £100m for clients in each of the last five years.
