Morton Fraser lands Scottish government property contract
Morton Fraser has been reappointed under the Scottish government’s Legal Services Framework to provide general property legal services for the next two years, with the option to extend the contract for a further two.
The exclusive contract will see Morton Fraser provide a diverse range of legal services connected to land acquisition, management and disposal of interests in land and property to the Scottish and UK ministers.
Under the previous contract, Morton Fraser advised the Scottish government on a wide range of property transactions. Recent examples include the conditional contract for the site of the Scottish Prison Service’s proposed replacement of HMP Barlinnie, and leases of office accommodation for new devolved agency, Social Security Scotland.
Amy Entwistle, property partner on the public sector team, said: “We are very pleased to continue to provide legal advice to the Scottish government in relation to its property portfolio.
“Morton Fraser has provided legal services to the Scottish government for almost two decades, and the range of work we have done through this particular contract has always been diverse and interesting.
“Our team are really looking forward to providing our expertise in this capacity again over the coming years.”
