Morton Fraser has been appointed as sole external legal advisers under the Scottish Government Framework 2015, providing litigation services to various Scottish government directorates and agencies and to the Office of the Advocate General.

This latest contract win is the firm’s third since September last year from the Scottish government’s expanded Legal Services Framework, following successful bids to provide the Scottish government with debt recovery services and general property law services.

The new contract will see Morton Fraser’s public sector team provide a range of reparation, litigation and employment services for the next two years, with the option to extend the contract for a further two.

Morton Fraser’s public sector team, one of the largest in Scotland with over 80 specialists and more than 100 clients, has worked with the Scottish and UK governments for over a decade.

Maggie Moodie, partner and public sector lead at Morton Fraser (pictured), said: “We’re absolutely thrilled with this appointment. It reinforces the strength of our public sector team and further cements a sustained period of growth for the firm overall.

“As one of the largest public sector teams in Scotland we have the ability to manage very large volumes of work whilst delivering top quality services. We’re committed to providing the best value and clarity of advice and service to our public sector clients.”
