Muir Myles Laverty promotes employment law specialist to partner
Muir Myles Laverty, one of Tayside’s leading law firms, has promoted an employment law specialist to partner status.
Ryan Russell, 33, has been appointed to assist in building up the Dundee firm’s busy employment law department.
John Muir, managing partner at MML, said: “Ryan’s promotion to partner is very well-deserved. His energy and close attention to detail have enabled him to win a number of high-profile employment tribunal cases. He has had a number of fantastic achievements in his legal career and we are sure that this will continue in his new role.
“His appointment as partner will consolidate the existing reputation of Muir, Myles, Laverty as experts in the field of employment law.”
Mr Russell is a graduate of the University of Dundee and qualified as a lawyer in 2010. Shortly after qualifying, he became one of the youngest ever Curator Ad Litem appointed by the Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland and has conducted over 120 Tribunals in his capacity as Curator.
In 2016, he was appointed as the course organiser for Employment Law on the Diploma in Legal Practise at Dundee Uni. He is believed to be one of the youngest course organisers appointed by the University’s Law Faculty.
Earlier this year, Mr Russell was shortlisted for the Rising Star of the Year Award at the Scottish Legal Awards.
Mr Russell said: “I am thrilled to be promoted to partner at Muir, Myles, Laverty where we have a great team and a very client-centred ethos in a growing and dynamic business.”
