New associate appointed to Gillespie Macandrew Edinburgh team
Gillespie Macandrew has appointed an experienced corporate and commercial solicitor to its Edinburgh office in the latest of a series of appointments to further expand its business.
Chris Gibson joins the firm as an associate from Jacksons and is a dual qualified Scottish and English corporate and commercial solicitor. He has more than twelve years’ experience gained in Oxford and, most recently, Newcastle upon Tyne.
A graduate of King’s College, London, Mr Gibson has particular expertise in advising software and technology companies and has assisted several start-up and early stage companies through to sale, including a disposal worth £19.5 million in 2015.
In addition to his qualifications as a solicitor, Mr Gibson is a Chartered Company Secretary and one of only around 800 English-qualified public notaries. He regularly advises on commercial agreements including international trade agreements and intellectual property licences, as well as corporate finance and business sales and purchases.
Welcoming him to the firm, Gillespie Macandrew chief executive, Chris West, said: “Chris’ appointment marks a further expansion to our corporate and commercial services and is part of our overall strategy to build on our growth as one of Scotland’s leading law firms.
“I am delighted to welcome Chris to our Edinburgh team and his wide experience and dual qualification in Scottish and English law will bring an additional breadth to the wide range of services that we offer our clients”.
