New faces and new look website for MacRoberts
Four new recruits have joined the growing ranks of MacRoberts as it continues its recent expansion drive.
The additions come as the firm unveils a new website and fresh branding today as part of its ongoing growth and development plans.
Laura Wilson, who joins from Harper Macleod, becomes MacRoberts’ first procurement director. She is based in Glasgow and has responsibility to oversee all tenders and bids.
The move follows the firm being appointed to the Scottish government’slegal panel framework, making it one of a select number of law firms that can tender for work with more than 100 public bodies over the next four years, offering multi-million pound opportunities.
MacRoberts secured places on two framework panels, covering corporate and commercial contracts and major projects.
The growth of business in family law has led to Fiona Sharp joining as a senior associate. Ms Sharp, who will also be based in Glasgow, arrives from McClure Naismith, now in administration.
Stephanie Baynham, who has been recruited from Burness Paull, becomes a senior solicitor in banking and finance, based in Edinburgh, while Alasdair Irvine joins as a solicitor in the corporate defence team in Glasgow having just completed his traineeship with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
Corporate defence is another major growth area for MacRoberts and Mr Irvine is the latest addition to the team which is headed by John McGovern, a former Glasgow Bar Association president, who joined MacRoberts in February with two other staff.
Over the last year MacRoberts has seen a steady rise in staff numbers, including the addition of seven new partners.
Today it also launches a new website as part of a corporate re-branding. The re-brand gives MacRoberts a much more contemporary look and feel.
Managing partner John Macmillan said: “As our latest arrivals demonstrate, we are bucking the trend in the legal profession by continuing to see significant growth in both our staff numbers and our business.
“The new website and re-branding also show that we are an ambitious and forward-thinking firm with plans to grow even further in future.”
