New in-house convener for Mental Health Tribunal
The Mental Health Tribunal for Scotland has appointed Morag Jack, advocate, to the post of in-house convener.
Ms Jack already sits as a legal member of the tribunal and will continue in that role in addition to the part-time position of in-house convener.
Dr Joe Morrow QC, MHTS president, said: “I am sure that Morag will bring much to the team at Hamilton (where the MHTS is based) and I look forward to working with her.”
In-house conveners work closely with the president, staff and caseworkers to contribute to the efficient and effective operation of the tribunal.
Ms Jack was a solicitor in private practice in Edinburgh before joining the Faculty of Advocates in 2000. She has a long-held interest in mental health law.
