New managing partner for Marks & Clerk in Glasgow
Marks & Clerk, the UK’s largest intellectual property (IP) firm, has appointed Dr Richard Gibbs as the new managing partner of its Glasgow office.
A chartered and European patent attorney, Dr Gibbs has spent over 13 years advising clients on their IP needs and was made a partner in the business in 2013.
With particular expertise in the field of biotechnology and technologies relating to antibodies, vaccines, biologics, virology, bacteriology and molecular biology, he has worked with all of Scotland’s major universities and is a regular speaker at IP conferences and events.

Dr Gibbs originally joined the patent profession after a period as both a research scientist and a university lecturer having obtained an honours degree in medical microbiology and a doctorate in immunology and microbiology from the University of Edinburgh.
