New partner at international IP firm’s Glasgow office
Marks & Clerk, an intellectual property (IP) firm, has appointed Dr Graham McGlashan as a partner to the business in its Glasgow office.
A chartered and European patent attorney, Dr McGlashan joined the business in 2003 after spending several years working on the development of new technologies within the semiconductor and energy fields.
He said: “Being made a partner at Marks & Clerk is an honour and a milestone, and I am extremely proud.
“Since joining the firm, I have advised clients on a wide variety of IP-related issues. Innovators across the UK continue to push the boundaries and it is more important than ever to help clients develop and grow their existing IP portfolio.”
Dr McGlashan specialises in patent and design matters in a wide range of fields and has particular expertise with innovations relating to electronic, telecom, electrical, energy, cleantech, automotive, defence and software technologies.
His clients range from major multinational corporations and leading universities to SMEs and spin-outs.
Dr Richard Gibbs, Glasgow office managing partner of Marks & Clerk, said: “Graham’s appointment as a Partner recognises the sterling contribution he has made to Marks & Clerk in Glasgow and across Scotland.
“As with many of our patent attorneys, Graham has a background in industry, which gives him the knowledge and expertise to offer our diverse client base an unrivalled service when they are looking to maximise the value of their intellectual assets.”
Dr Gibbs was appointed the new managing partner of Marks & Clerk’s Glasgow office earlier this year.
