New partners and directors at Anderson Strathern
Anderson Strathern has reinforced its leadership team with the promotion of two new partners and six new directors.
New partners Gary Burton and Robbie Wilson are leading specialists in the firm’s healthcare, public and regulatory team.
Mr Burton is recognised for his expertise in personal injury actions and heads the firm’s catastrophic personal injury unit. He also leads the firm’s Scottish referral network which links solicitors in practices all over Scotland with Anderson Strathern’s specialist legal services. Mr Burton is accredited as a specialist by the Law Society of Scotland in regulation of professional conduct law and appears in high profile regulatory cases in the areas of teaching, nursing and social care.
Mr Wilson leads Anderson Strathern’s medical negligence unit, which has a multi-million-pound caseload across some of the most complex medical negligence cases in Scotland, including birth injury, misdiagnosis and fatal claims. He is accredited by the Law Society of Scotland as a specialist in medical negligence and also sits on the panel that approves the medical negligence accreditations of other lawyers.
Chair Bruce Farquhar said: “I’m very proud to support colleagues to develop their careers within Anderson Strathern. Their exemplary work ensures that we are a modern, highly effective law firm with skilled teams.
“Medical negligence cases are particularly key for the firm because the cross-referral opportunities drive performance and growth in other departments, such as trust work for the private client team and investment advice for our asset management services.”
A further six lawyers have been promoted to directors: Elizabeth MacGregor (commercial real estate/rural land and business); Tom Docherty and Gillian Murray (dispute resolution); Robin Turnbull, (employment, immigration and pensions); Karen Craig (rural land and business); and Fiona Savage (commercial real estate).
