New premises for growing Dunfermline solicitors

A firm of solicitors in Dunfermline whose office suffered an arson attack last year is to move after a planning application was approved.

W & AS Bruce is to turn The Pine Cabin premises in St Margaret Street into a solicitors’ office.

Managing partner Charles Campbell told the Dunfermline Press the move to the new flagship office was part of an-going expansion.

“We decided to buy that because we are expanding and that is going to be our new head office as our existing premises are not big enough,” he explained.

“We identified that building in the heritage quarter and it is one of buildings at risk in Dunfermline so we decided to buy it and give it a new lease of life.

“Currently we have got offices in Dundee, Broxburn, Kirkcaldy and Burntisland and this will be our new head office.

“Just now we have 14 solicitors based in the different offices but we are hoping, by the end of next year, to have 20 solicitors working in the various offices.”

Mr Campbell added that he looked forward to the move following an arson attack on the firm’s premises last year which “raised a few issues around this part of town”, saying “we decided we would like to go to a quieter part of town and give that building a new lease of life.”
