New Sheriff appointed to Aberdeen
Her Majesty the Queen has appointed Jack Brown as Sheriff of the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands, on the recommendation of the First Minister.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon made her recommendation for appointment on the basis of a report by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
Sheriff Brown is a graduate of the University of Dundee. Following a traineeship with Dundee City Council, he worked with Messrs J&J Hunterbefore becoming a partner in Messrs Shaw and Co. Since 1996, he has been the principal in his own practice, Jack Brown and Company.
He was appointed as a solicitor advocate in 2003 and has been a fee-paid part-time sheriff since 2005.
