New sheriffs appointed

Her Majesty the Queen has appointed Patrick Hughes and Eilidh MacDonald to the office of sheriff, on the recommendation of the First Minister.
First Minister Nicola Sturgeon made her recommendation for appointment on the basis of a report by the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland.
Patrick Hughes has been appointed to the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde, to be based at Oban Sheriff Court and Eilidh MacDonald has been appointed to the Sheriffdom of Grampian, Highland and Islands to be based at Fort William Sheriff Court.
