New website ushers in DIY tenancy agreements for landlords
A website which allows users to create tenancy agreements complying with new legislation has been welcomed by landlords.
The Scottish government website will let landlords create agreements with clauses which must be included under the law.
The website will also allow them to include or remove optional clauses - which have also been drafted by lawyers.
Scottish Association of Landlords chief executive John Blackwood said: “We have worked closely with the Scottish Government, housing charities, tenant groups and others to ensure the new tenancy agreement legislation strikes the right balance, which will help the private rented sector (PRS) to grow whilst encouraging responsible landlords and protecting the rights of tenants.”
Housing minister Kevin Stewart will launch the website in Edinburgh today at the UK’s largest landlord conference.
