Pagan Osborne hosts women in business event
Pagan Osborne hosted its first “Women Who Mean Business” event for almost 40 young professionals at its Edinburgh office.
The free event was fully booked in a matter of days and it proved such a success there has already been demand to make it a regular series.
The crowd was addressed by a panel made up of Pagan Osborne legal director Audrey Dishington, Alzheimer Scotland director of marketing Anna Devine and Standard Life Investments’ global press manager Yvonne Soulsby who spoke about their journeys to reach the heights of their careers and shared advice with the delegates. This was followed by a lively question and answer session and the opportunity to network during a drinks reception.
Ms Dishington said: “We actively promote and encourage equal opportunities and diversity at Pagan Osborne but we recognise young women entering the workforce still face challenges and may continue to do so as they progress their careers. I believe it is important to support one another and that women who have faced and overcome these obstacles provide mentorship. This event was a brilliant way to start this conversation.”
The event was organised by trainee solicitor Amy Zoltie. She added: “I am delighted the event was such a success and that the attendees are keen for this to become an established network. I wanted to create an event which helped to inspire and empower young women to seek leadership positions and provide a network of likeminded, ambitious individuals that can turn to one another for advice and support. Our panel of professionals sets fantastic examples and I hope it gave those attending inspiration as they develop their careers.”
