Prisoner transport firm GEOAMEY has apologised to a Tayside sheriff over a number of disruptive late arrivals.

At Forfar Sheriff Court, director Gavin Redmond said he was “embarrassed” by the issues which he blamed on a sharp decline in staff numbers.

He said the firm had lost more than a third of its staff in the past year and that he had recently approved a pay rise of five per cent in order to stem the numbers.

Mr Redmond apologised on behalf of GEOAMEY to Sheriff Jillian Martin-Brown, saying he was embarrassed by the case of a shoplifter who was twice late to her own trial in a single week.

Sheriff Martin-Brown thanked him for attending and said that no further action would be taken following Mr Redmond’s explanation for the delays.
