Profits rise to £13.76m at Harper Macleod

Harper Macleod’s profit before members’ remuneration has risen from £11.95 million to £13.76m, new accounts filed at Companies House show.

The firm had an average of 75 members over the year, with the average remuneration standing at £176,917, up from £162,386. The share of profit awarded to the member with the highest entitlement was £692,453, up from £663,604.

Turnover at the partnership increased to £36.5m, from £33.05m.

In its review the firm said: “Key features of this year have involved the embedding of our new IT and software systems, as well as properly equipping the large number of lawyers who have joined the business to ensure relentless focus upon delivery of high-quality legal services the Harper Macleod way.

“We have also invested significantly in our marketing, PR and new business functions, which have already shown the merit of this focus. All measures of our brand show that it has never been stronger nationally, regionally, and in our chosen sectors.

“We are one of Scotland’s leading law firms, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Inverness, Elgin, Thurso and Lerwick. Strengthening all aspects of our business has been a key focus in recognition of our need to be as best equipped as we can be to face the many opportunities we see ahead.”
