Promotions at Thompsons Solicitors Scotland
Thompsons Solicitors Scotland has announced a round of new promotions.
Jillian Merchant, Claire Campbell and Craig Smillie have been promoted to partner while Deirdre Flannigan has been promoted to associate.
Ms Merchant said: “I’m extremely excited about this new role as working with the trade union movement is something that’s built into my DNA. Given the uncertain times caused by the pandemic, the rights of workers, their safety and the role of unions have never been more important. I look forward to working with our trade union friends more closely than before to provide the best legal and strategic advice possible.”
Ms Campbell added: “I feel extremely honoured to have been made partner as I have worked at Thompsons since I was a trainee and share the firms’ passion for obtaining justice for our clients. I’m looking forward to having a leading role in our Covid unit and continuing my career at one of Scotland’s leading law firms.”
Mr Smillie commented: “I would like to thank the firm for this opportunity and look forward to continuing to contribute to the important work Thompsons does helping the victims and their families of the awful diseases caused by asbestos. In this field Thompsons expertise is unsurpassed and I look forward to continuing to be part of asbestos victims fight for justice.”
