Rapist jailed for attacking four girls
A teenage rapist who attacked four girls over the course of nine months has been given a 10-year extended sentence.
Sam Brown was found guilty of seven charges on July 30 following a trial at the High Court in Edinburgh.
The 20-year-old met his first victim on social media before violently and sexually assaulting her on March 10, 2022, during their first in-person meet up. The following day, he attacked and raped the 16-year-old at an address in Edinburgh.
Brown met his second victim on social media before entering into a short relationship with her in June 2022. He raped the 16-year-old at an address in Glasgow before sexually assaulting her in a wooded area. The same victim was also repeatedly struck on the head during consensual intercourse with Brown.
Later that same month, on June 28, Brown sexually assaulted his third victim – a 14-year-old girl – after meeting up with her in Edinburgh city centre.
On December 17, Brown sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl in a field in the capital after meeting her on Snapchat.
On September 2, 2024, at the High Court in Edinburgh, he was ordered to serve seven years in custody with a further three-year extension.
Non-harassment orders banning Brown from contacting or attempting to contact all four victims were granted indefinitely.
