Registers of Scotland reduces casework backlog
The backlog of open casework at Registers of Scotland’s (RoS) has gone into decline, according to a new report.
Its Annual Report and Accounts for 2023-24 gives an outline of key business activities and performance over the past financial year.
Other highlights include:
- Completed 90 per cent of registrations within 35 days
- Progress in delivering the benefits of a completed land register, with land mass coverage now at over 95 per cent
- RoS’s digital journey continued at pace, and it introduced automation for the most straightforward applications
- It reached the end of the transition period for the newest register - the Register of Persons Holding a Controlled Interest in Land (RCI)
- RoS retained its gold level ‘We Invest in People’ accreditation from Investors in People
- It achieved a break-even financial position
The government department aims to prioritise what matters most to its customers. Its Customer Satisfaction Index results were both above the UK and public sector averages this year – at 81.7 for professionals and 84.4 for citizens.
