Renewables expert joins Anderson Strathern as consultant

Energy industry stalwart Alan Simpson has joined Anderson Strathern as a consultant.

With a background in commercial property, Mr Simpson brings 15 years’ experience of working on renewable energy projects across Scotland and the UK, from onshore wind and hydro to solar and tidal. Alongside his energy credentials, Simpson also has strong links to the international renewables industry, particularly in Germany and China.

The firm has worked on a record number of renewable energy projects over the last twelve months, helping the Crown Estate (Scotland) to unlock a series of offshore development opportunities, Bluemerang Capital around the sale of a combined portfolio of wind turbines to Malaysian infrastructure giant Tenaga in one the largest deals of its kind in the UK last year, acting for the landowners’ consortium on the Solwaybank wind turbine project, and acting for Elgin Energy who have built out Scotland’s largest solar park at Errol.

Mr Simpson said: “With a growing energy team and some really innovative plans for the year ahead, 2018 is a great time to be joining Anderson Strathern, a firm that I have long-admired and respected.
