Representatives of top EU courts meet in Dublin for two-day seminar
Representatives of the top courts in each of the 28 EU member states visited Dublin this week for a two-day seminar.
The Association of Councils of State and Supreme Administrative Jurisdictions of the European Union (ACA-Europe) seminar was hosted by the Supreme Court of Ireland and its president, the Chief Justice, Mr Justice Frank Clarke.
The supreme courts of the 28 states were all represented, with 15 Chief Justices among the seminar’s delegates.
Over two days, judges examined how each of their respective courts conduct their business and the principles of how they approach cases.
The aim of the event, headlined “How Our Courts Decide: The Decision-Making Process of Supreme Administrative Courts”, was to support greater access to the decisions, wisdom and jurisprudence of each court in the area of EU law, and help the courts in each country to reference, cite or rely upon approaches in other states.
