Robert Sutherland to attempt winter climb of Ben Nevis for Children 1st
Terra Firma Chambers advocate Robert Sutherland is heading to Fort William this weekend for the lest leg of his fundraising efforts on behalf of Children 1st.
With forecasts of sub-zero temperatures, snow and wind, this challenge is likely to be the most arduous yet.
In recent years, Mr Sutherland has climbed Kilimanjaro, trekked for three days in the Arctic Circle, walked 22 miles around Edinburgh’s “7 Summits”, and undertaken a two-day Highland Triple involving an ascent of Ben Nevis one day followed by a day of cycling and canoeing near Fort William.
This weekend, he will be part of a group hoping to manage a winter ascent of Ben Nevis.
Speaking to SLN, Mr Sutherland said: “I am very grateful to all my friends and colleagues who have supported me in my past and current fundraising efforts for the vital work of this charity. I would ask everyone reading this to donate to my fundraising page.”
