Rock on at the Mackenzie Building!

Two rock musicals featuring Faculty member Roddy MacLeod and deputy advocates Clerk Elizabeth Archibald will take place at the Mackenzie Building during the Edinburgh Festival.

The shows will run from Thursday 8 August to Saturday 17 August, with the exception of Tuesday 13 August. Ms Archibald will perform for the whole run while Mr MacLeod will join the cast from 14 August. Tickets cost £12.

Flesh is the real-life drama of Burke and Hare, Scotland’s first serial killers, with a comic twist and original folk rock songs. This one-hour show is based on the sell-out Edinburgh Fringe 2022 production. Ticket holders can immerse themselves in this story of the outrageous happenings of 1828 Edinburgh and sing along to the production’s catchy poignant songs. Deacon Brodie is based on a true story and the production is packed with its deceit, love, laughs, theft and some great contemporary songs. The local cast take on the controversial tale with an eager passion and energy for this likeable Edinburgh rogue. Deacon Brodie will be staged from 8pm to 9pm and tickets can be bought online here.
