Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow to host women in law event
The Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow will be partnering with the Women in Law project to participate in Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2023.
From 12-17 September 2023 (10am-4pm) the Faculty Hall will be hosting a physical and interactive exhibition about women in law, drawing inspiration from the Women in Law Project’s mission which is to research the past, document the present and advocate for the future of women in law in Scotland and the world.
Learn about the quiet girl from Pollokshields, Madge Easton Anderson, who became the first woman to qualify as a lawyer in the UK in 1920, and Muriel Isabelle Jeffrey who was the first woman solicitor admitted into the Royal Faculty of Procurators in Glasgow in 1924.
The Women in Law project is an ongoing research and outreach project based at the University of Glasgow and Glasgow Caledonian University.
