Scottish Arbitration Centre chairman to speak at European Energy Law Seminar
The Scottish Arbitration Centre’s chairman, Brandon Malone, has been invited to speak at the 27th European Energy Law Seminar which will take place on 25-26 January in The Hague, the Netherlands.
Mr Malone will speak on the subject of dispute resolution in the energy sector and in his capacity as co-director of the International Centre for Energy Arbitration (ICEA).
The ICEA is a joint initiative of the Scottish Arbitration Centre and the University of Dundee’s Centre for Energy, Petroleum, Mineral Law and Policy.
The ICEA was established in 2014 and launched by the then First Minister, Alex Salmond, with the aim of investigating current trends and desired requirements in respect of dispute resolution in the energy sector, and with a longer term view of establishing bespoke energy arbitration rules and Scotland as a leading jurisdiction on energy dispute resolution.
In May of 2015 the ICEA published its Initial Report on Dispute Resolution in the Energy Sector to much international interest and legal press coverage.
