Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service wins top carers award
The Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) has won an award recognising its excellent carers’ policy.
SCTS won the “Carers Scotland best for carers and eldercare” award at the Scottish Top Employers for Working Families Special Awards.
The awards recognise employers who are interested in innovative and effective ways of supporting employees with caring responsibilities, including eldercare.
Christine Mellon, SCTS director of HR said: “I would like to congratulate everyone involved to win this award which is a considerable achievement. Our evidence shows that our carers’ policy, which supports those with caring responsibilities, allows us to retain skilled staff and support them to make a positive contribution at work.”
A winner’s brochure issued at the event detailed SCTS’ story with a quote from the judges: “The organisation is proactive in its approach to carers and the issue is visible across the organisation. There are great benefits for employees and the strong employee case studies outlined the impact of these very clearly. There is a specific policy to support people dealing with a terminally-ill relative which is impressive.”
