Scottish Law Commission goes digital
The Scottish Law Commission will now publish discussion papers and reports on its website only.
The first of its digital-only publications will be Review of Contract Law: Report on Third Party Rights.
The commission will no longer produce hard copy versions of its discussion papers and reports in addition to the electronic publications, reflecting its
approach to working in the digital age.
The commission began to publish all of its work in electronic form on its website over 15 years ago.
All past commission publications are available on the website, athttp://www.scotlawcom.gov.uk/publications.
Lord Pentland, chairman of the Commission, said: “This is the latest step in our ongoing programme of modernisation at the Scottish Law Commission.
“We seek fully to embrace the opportunities offered by the digital age, to avoid adverse environmental impact and to save money on hard copy printing.
“With these aims in mind we have decided to move to publication of our work in electronic format only. We have a modern and accessible website and I would encourage anyone with an interest in law reform to use it and to contact us with their views.”
