2022 was the fifth year of the commission’s Tenth Programme of law reform which covers the period from the start of 2018 to the end of 2022.
The Report discusses our work on a number of projects including those on: aspects of family law; the law of homicide; surrogacy; automated vehicles; securities over land; the termination of commercial leases; compulsory owners’ associations in tenements; and damages for personal injury. Further details can be found in the Report.
The chair of the commission, Lady Paton said: “The past year has been a productive one for the commission on a number of different fronts. We continue to work on our law reform projects; three reports were published.
“We consulted on topics for our next Programme of Law Reform, which we aim to publish shortly. We are grateful for all the suggestions received. As we continue to emerge from the shadow of the pandemic, we have developed our online and in-person outreach and consultations. We are pleased to be supporting two SLC Bills in the Scottish Parliament which will implement our recommendations.”
