Scottish lawyers to compete in charity battle of the bands
LexFactor is nearly here! Hosted by Aberdein Considine, the event will see six bands made up of members of the Scottish legal profession go head-to-head at the O2 Academy Edinburgh, formerly The Corn Exchange, this Thursday 16 March.
The bands taking part include The Argyll Cycle, Blink 182 + VAT, Bail’her Swift, BP/BC, The Paroling Stones, and The Submissions, whose line-ups include some of Scotland’s finest legal minds.
The illustrious judging panel is made up of Lord Carloway, Scotland’s most senior judge and Lord President of the Court of Session; Elena Whitham, MSP and Cabinet Secretary for Community Safety; Diane McGiffen, CEO of the Law Society of Scotland; Kate Dixon, corporate and partnerships lead at Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity; and Iona Fyfe, award-winning musician and Scots language advocate.
The event is being MC’d by Joe McShane, rockabilly guitarist and professional services director at HRC Recruitment.
All proceeds raised by the event will be donated to the Archie Foundation, Edinburgh Children’s Hospital Charity, Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity & the Great North Children’s Hospital Foundation, with the event forming part of Aberdein Considine’s ambitious goal to raise £40,000 for the charities to mark its 40th year in business.
All four charities help provide valuable services to babies, children, young people and their families by supporting their medical care, mental health and wellbeing. Money raised will help fund everything from daily activities, youth work and play initiatives to life-changing equipment and bereavement support.
Ticket sales remain strong, for which the organisers commend the support and generosity of Scots lawyers, firms, and music enthusiasts — but limited tickets remain available.
The organisers have agreed to offer a discounted rate to firms or businesses bulk buying for their staff, which will make a great excuse for an impromptu staff night out. If you’re interested in making a bulk order or have any questions, please contact:
