Scottish Legal Action Group announces reduced cost student membership
The Scottish Legal Action Group (SCOLAG) has announced the launch of a new reduced cost student membership with the support of the Faculty of Advocates.
Law students will now be able to become members of SCOLAG and receive access to its monthly legal journal for the annual cost of £10 per annum.
Eamon Keane, convenor of SCOLAG, said: “We are delighted to be able to offer this membership package to all law students across Scotland due to the generous support of the Faculty of Advocates.
“Membership of SCOLAG provides an excellent opportunity for law students who are interested in access to justice to receive monthly content and legal updates that are unavailable elsewhere.
“SCOLAG is also planning several further activities and events in 2020, to be announced shortly, that will be of direct interest to law students. All at the group are extremely grateful to the Faculty of Advocates for their continued support.”
Angela Grahame QC, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Advocates, added: “For many years, SCOLAG have worked tirelessly to improve the legal system for the benefit of those people in Scotland who are economically, socially or otherwise disadvantaged.
“Active engagement with the group is a great way to contribute. The Faculty is very proud to be able to help them with this valuable work and we hope that this new initiative will encourage more of Scotland’s future lawyers to become involved with their objectives.”
Roddy Dunlop QC, Treasurer of Faculty, said: “Access to Justice is fundamental to the Faculty of Advocates, and we are delighted to be supporting SCOLAG in widening access to students across Scotland.”
