Senior promotions at Drummond Miller
Drummond Miller LLP has announced a number of senior promotions across the firm’s practice areas and offices, including the assumption of three new partners: Sharon Fleming in private client; Sarah Jack in immigration; and Ailsa Meiklejohn in conveyancing and property.
Ms Fleming joined the firm in 2007. She is a highly regarded private client practitioner with a loyal client following, particularly in West Lothian where she leads the Bathgate office. Her clients appreciate her efficiency, pragmatism and hard work on their behalf. She is unfazed by complex estates and has a particular depth of experience in dealing with intestacy. Her promotion is the next step in the continued growth of Drummond Miller’s private client team.
Ms Jack joined Drummond Miller in 2011 and has developed a strong practice in family migration, European law and in representing victims of domestic abuse. She trained in the City of London, is dual-qualified in English and Scots law, and has practised in immigration, nationality and refugee law in the voluntary and private sectors in both jurisdictions. She brings a depth of experience and dedication to the practice, commercial awareness and her attention to detail achieves successful outcomes for her clients.
Ms Meiklejohn is a very experienced conveyancer who joined Drummond Miller last year from another busy firm. Her exemplary work ethic and strength of experience have helped her lead her team through the unprecedented challenges of the last 12 months, and her skills will of value as she continues to develop our Property team. We are delighted to have her on board.
In addition to the above, Anna Rani and Lorna Hale have been promoted to senior associates, and Carrie Burrows and Aine McShane to associates.
Ms Rani joined Drummond Miller as a trainee in 2014 and has established considerable expertise in immigration and nationality law. She has built up a strong client base as a result of her proactive and client-focused approach and is an invaluable member of the team.
Ms Hale joined the firm as an assistant solicitor in 2016 and has specialized in clinical negligence since qualifying. She has significant experience in a wide range of medical negligence cases in both the All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and Court of Session. She is fast becoming a recognised expert in what is a highly specialized area of the law.
Ms Burrows was promoted to associate in December 2020. She joined the clinical negligence team in 2018, having previously worked for a litigation firm where she handled a wide range of personal injury claims in the Court of Session., All-Scotland Personal Injury Court and local sheriff courts. She is sensitive to client’s needs and to delivering practical advice to ensure that settlements can be achieved, even in difficult circumstances. She is a key member of our expanding specialist litigation team.
Ms McShane commenced a specialised traineeship within the medical negligence team in 2016. Over the last few years, she has gained experience in a wide variety of cases at all levels of value and complexity. She is now an established and key member of the team.
