Shepherd and Wedderburn restructuring and insolvency team boosted by lateral hires
Shepherd and Wedderburn has announced the appointment of a three partner team to their leading restructuring and insolvency practice. Yvonne Brady,Fiona McKerrell and John Gallacher join the firm in the New Year from HBJ Gateley.
Ms Brady, who will become head of the Shepherd and Wedderburn team, is described by peers in legal directory, Chambers and Partners, as “the most experienced recovery lawyer in Scotland”.
Together with Ms McKerrell who is well known in the insolvency arena; and Mr Gallacher who has particular expertise in distressed property finance lending, this trio combine with the existing team to create an “unrivalled offering in Scotland” the firm said.

With over 30 years’ experience in the insolvency and restructuring market, advising banks, corporate lenders and insolvency practitioners on all aspects of corporate restructuring and formal insolvency, Ms Brady has been retained to advise on many of the most significant restructuring and insolvency mandates in Scotland in recent years.
She is regarded by many in insolvency and restructuring circles as peerless in relation to her comprehensive knowledge and expertise.
