On Sunday 2 October, a team from Shepherd and Wedderburn will lace up their running shoes to take part in this year’s “Bank of Scotland Great Scottish Run”.

Bringing together more than 25,000 participants in Glasgow’s city centre, the event involves either a 10k run or a half-marathon past some of Glasgow’s most iconic landmarks, in an effort to raise money for a variety of charities and good causes.

The 18-strong Shepherd and Wedderburn team, including partners, solicitors and finance staff from the firm’s Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, is raising funds for BBC Children in Need, a charity that supports over 480,000 disadvantaged children and young people across 2,400 UK projects. To help the team achieve its fundraising target, Shepherd and Wedderburn staff have been busy organising a variety of activities, including an office dress down day and a bake sale.

Shepherd and Wedderburn partner, Patrick Bell, who organised the firm’s participation in the event said: “I’m delighted that so many of my colleagues from across the firm are joining me on the Great Scottish Run, not only to support our client, Bank of Scotland, who are hosting the event, but more importantly to raise money for a very worthy cause.

“Last year the event raised over £1.5 million for charity. Let’s see if we can contribute to making this year’s total even higher.”
