Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull to be made a senator of the College of Justice

Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull has been appointed as a senator of the College of Justice in one of a number of judicial appointments made by His Majesty The King on the recommendation of the first minister.
The new judge will take up post on 17 May 2023.
Sheriff Principal Aisha Anwar, sheriff principal of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, will transfer to the Sheriffdom of Glasgow and Strathkelvin on the same date.
The Lord President has also authorised Sheriff Principal Anwar to perform the functions of sheriff principal of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway until 11 June 2023.
Sheriff Sean Murphy KC has been appointed as sheriff principal of the Sheriffdom of North Strathclyde. Catherine (Kate) Dowdalls KC has been appointed as sheriff principal of the Sheriffdom of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway and Sheriff Gillian Wade KC has been appointed as sheriff principal of Tayside, Central and Fife.
Sheriff Murphy took up appointment as sheriff principal on 28 December 2022. Ms Dowdalls will take up her appointment from 12 June 2023. Sheriff Wade will take up appointment from 1 August 2023.
Sheriff Principal Marysia Lewis will retire on 31 July 2023.
