Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull to be appointed as Senator of the College of Justice
Sheriff Principal Craig Turnbull is to be appointed as a Senator of the College of Justice next year.
On his appointment, Sheriff Principal Aisha Anwar, currently the sheriff principal of South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway, will transfer to his current Sheriffdom of Glasgow and Strathkelvin.
Both moves will take effect in May 2023, the Scottish Courts and Tribunals Service (SCTS) said today.
Meanwhile, Sheriff Principal Marysia Lewis, in Tayside, Central and Fife, has announced her retirement next summer, creating a further vacancy at sheriff principal level.
The Lord President has asked the Judicial Appointments Board for Scotland (JABS) to recommend three sheriffs principal for North Strathclyde; South Strathclyde, Dumfries and Galloway; and Tayside, Central and Fife.
