Sheriff Principal Douglas Risk QC
The death has been announced of Douglas Risk QC, former Sheriff Principal of Grampian, Highland and Islands. He was 76.
Mr Risk was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1966, and was appointed a sheriff in 1977, serving in Lothian and Borders before moving to Grampian, Highland and Islands.
He was elevated to Sheriff Principal in 1993, and retired in 2001. He also served as a temporary judge.
