Shoosmiths raises funds for charity partners
Throughout December, staff in the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices of Shoosmiths entered into the Christmas spirit to help support and raise funds for their local charity partners.
In Edinburgh, the office contributed to Pilton Youth and Children’s Project (PYCP) Christmas appeal, donating specific gifts for families in need. Staff also organised a raffle – including of a luxurious hamper – and held an in-house bake sale to raise over £600 for the north Edinburgh based charity.
In Glasgow, the festive fun included a bauble making competition, gingerbread bake-off and a Christmas and Glasgow city themed quiz. Funds raised in Glasgow will go to the community led environmental charity, Urban Roots based in the southside of the city.
Janette Speed, real estate partner and head of Scotland at Shoosmiths, said: “Throughout the year staff in our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices support their designated local charity. I am very proud that Pilton Youth and Children’s Project in Edinburgh and Urban Roots in Glasgow will soon receive funds raised by the imaginative festive activities organised by our hard working and talented Shoosmiths teams on both sides of the country.”
The festive fundraising in Scotland reflects Shoosmiths year-round support of its 13 office charity partners. This includes support of Cancer Research UK through the alignment of the Belfast office with Business Beats Cancer Belfast, helping the Birmingham Childline service and in London raising funds for the child poverty charity, the Childhood Trust.
