Shoosmiths Scotland embraces ‘treks, puds and sparkle’ in festive fundraiser
Shoosmiths’ Edinburgh and Glasgow offices have been working hard to bring some festive cheer to those in need.
More than £1,000 has been raised by staff in Glasgow and Edinburgh to date, a sum that has contributed to the running total of over £6,000 raised for Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT) by Shoosmiths’ UK-wide offices since May.
TCT is the only UK charity dedicated to meeting the unique emotional, physical and practical needs of young people (13-24 years old) who receive a cancer diagnosis.
Since 11 September, six teams of three from the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices have participated in TCT’s virtual version of the Race Across the World, ‘trekking’ 4,000km from Steep Point in Western Australia to Cape Byron in the east. Through this initiative, Shoosmiths’ intrepid ‘trekkers’ have already raised £450.
Janette Speed, partner and head of office for Shoosmiths in Scotland, said: “Teenage Cancer Trust undertakes tremendous work for young people given a cancer diagnosis.
“I’m very proud of the fact our Glasgow and Edinburgh offices, as part of a collective fundraising effort by colleagues throughout the UK, have embraced the chance to help raise funds for such a worthwhile cause and enjoyed some festive fun along the way. The whole team at Shoosmiths in Scotland wishes everyone a very Merry Christmas.”
