Led by Alison Gilson, head of the Edinburgh office, three new associates have joined her corporate team. Alice Gray, Sylwia Jakuczun and Julide Cevher join the Scottish operation that UK-wide is the most active law firm advising on mergers and acquisitions (M&A) and venture capital (VC) transactions.

Catriona Fowlie is one of several of the new appointments who trained at Shoosmiths. She has joined the employment team in Edinburgh, working with colleagues including Samantha Mackie, an employment and discrimination law specialist and recently named Rising Star of the Year at the Scottish Legal Awards.

In the early summer, Seonaid Sandham joined the dispute resolution and litigation team as a senior associate based in the Edinburgh office. Across the M8, Iain Campbell has completed his traineeship with the firm to join the Glasgow office as a solicitor. Led by partner Andrew Foyle, three paralegals have also been onboarded to the team.

Barry McKeown, head of the Glasgow office has added four junior roles to the real estate team that includes senior associate Rachel Munro.

Two new trainees, Katie Hindle and Yusuf Qureshi have also joined Shoosmiths in Scotland. Working across the Edinburgh and Glasgow offices, they are gaining invaluable legal experience in a range of divisions, including corporate, banking, employment, dispute resolution and litigation and real estate. They can also apply for external secondments to work with Shoosmiths’ commercial clients throughout the UK.
