Simone Young made partner at Davidson Chalmers Stewart
Davidson Chalmers Stewart has announced the promotion of its head of construction, Simone Young, who becomes the firm’s 13th partner.
Recruited in 2015, Ms Young is a non-contentious construction law specialist with extensive experience acting for a variety of clients across the sector. Based in Davidson Chalmers Stewart’s Edinburgh office, where she works closely with her real estate, planning and renewable energy colleagues, she advises clients on procurement matters, negotiating all forms of construction contract.
She has worked with a wide range of clients, including recently delivering all of the construction contracts, on behalf of Tartan Leisure Limited, for the Lost Shore Surf Resort, a world-class development set to open later this year near Edinburgh Airport.
Davidson Chalmers Stewart managing partner, Laura Irvine, said: “I’m delighted to announce Simone’s promotion which, for the first time, marks a female majority across the firm’s group of partners.
“Since joining the firm as our head of construction nine years ago, she has continued to develop her reputation and is now regarded as one of the most experienced and respected legal advisers in the construction sector. I look forward to seeing Simone continue to drive the growth of our construction sector practice across Scotland.”
Ms Young said: “I’m very pleased to become Davidson Chalmers Stewart’s newest partner. I am eager to continue supporting our existing construction sector clients and to welcoming new clients on board as we expand this key practice area.”
