Sir David Edward QC heads major Scottish Brexit conference
Sir David Edward QC, a former Judge of Court of Justice of the European Union, is to head a major conference on Brexit sponsored by Scottish Legal News.
Advocate Mark Lazarowicz, one of the conference organisers, said: “The UK government has now pulled the Article 50 trigger to give formal notification of Brexit to the EU. It is expected that the EU will give an indication of its initial negotiating stance shortly afterwards. As a result, in the next few weeks we are likey to get more indication of the type of relationship that the UK, including Scotland, might have with Europe after Brexit.”
On 29 May Brexit and Scotland: implications for law and government will look at how the Brexit negotiations with the EU are likely to develop and the outcomes of those negotiations.
Joining Sir David will be a highly respected roster of speakers including constitutional expert Aidian O’Neill QC, Professor Eleanor Spaventa, of Durham University, Professor Drew Scott, of Edinburgh University, David Martin MEP, Kenneth Campbell QC and advocate Peter Sellar.
