SLAS survey seeks views on SLCC and complaints system
The Scottish Law Agents Society (SLAS) is inviting lawyers to complete a survey on the perceived fairness, transparency, and suitability of the existing legal complaints system in Scotland.
Recently, SLAS noted that members of the legal profession have raised concerns and expressed dissatisfaction regarding several aspects of the complaints process, including costs, impartiality, delays, time limitations, mental health implications, decision-making processes and appeals.
The possibility of a complaint has become a persistent source of concern for many practitioners, particularly at a time when various professions are examining issues related to burnout and mental health.
Following its analysis of the responses, SLAS will consider the appropriateness of compiling a report, summarising the identified issues and concerns. All responses will be anonymised unless a responder would like to disclose their details.
All responses are also submitted anonymously.
